Professional Coach Training Program

The Professional Coach Training Program trains leaders and aspiring coaches in the development of coaching competencies in order to collaborate with others to reach potential. Michael Smith is the official PCTP trainer, and will personally offer face-to-face training for all courses. All courses are delivered in English only. Each courses consists of twelve face-to-face hours of training and three hours of outside work, including reading a required text.

Each course is comprised of 15 hours of coach training: Twelve hours is face-to-face classroom training, and three hours is independent work. Independent work consists of completing the required reading, having a working knowledge of the text informing your ability to discuss it during the training.

In addition to completing the 15 hours, participants are required to record five coaching videos and submit it to the trainer, along with a self-assessment of their coaching, focusing self-evaluation of the ICF Core Coaching Competencies. In response, the trainer will provide written assessments for a minimum of two of those recorded coaching conversations.

Cost per course is $350, and covers participant guide and cost to process one recorded coaching conversation with a written assessment from the trainer. If classes are taken outside of the cohort model, and you pursue completion of the 60-hour program, one additional video must be submitted and processed for a $75 fee.

Participants may purchase the required reading for each class, or use a public library. Any expenses incurred for required reading will be the participant’s responsibility. If a participant withdrawals from the program prior to beginning or during the program, a $25 administrative fee will be applied, and any unused funds will be fully refunded. All payments must be paid in full prior to the beginning of the course unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
